Privacy Policy — Sourcing Proof

The short version

This site has no advertising trackers, no analytics scripts, and no cookies set by us. The landed cost calculator runs entirely in your browser — the numbers you type are not transmitted anywhere. We collect only what you send us by email or what is needed to invoice you, we do not sell it, and you can ask us to delete it.

1. What we collect

We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. We do not collect special-category data, and we ask that you do not send it.

2. What we do not do

No advertising or analytics trackers on this site. No Google Analytics, no pixels, no session recording.
No cookies of our own. If you set one through a third-party payment flow, that party's policy applies to it.
No selling, renting or trading of personal data, ever.
No marketing emails. There is no newsletter list to unsubscribe from.

3. Who else sees it

Only what is necessary, and only to these categories:

Payment processor — to take payment and handle refunds.
Hosting provider — the site is served from a content delivery network; standard request logs exist there.
Email provider — messages you send arrive at a mailbox operated by a third party.
Professional advisers or authorities — where required by law, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

Suppliers you ask us to check will learn that an enquiry was made, because we contact them. They are not told who the client is beyond what is necessary to conduct the check, unless you instruct us otherwise.

4. International transfers

Work is performed in China and your data is processed there and in the country where our service providers operate. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or a jurisdiction with data-transfer restrictions, this means your data leaves your region. Where required we rely on an appropriate transfer mechanism, and we limit what is transferred to what the engagement needs.

5. How long we keep it

Reports and supporting evidence: kept for 24 months so that follow-up questions can be answered, then deleted.
Invoices and accounting records: kept as long as tax law requires.
Email enquiries that do not become engagements: deleted within 12 months.

6. Your rights

You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. You can object to processing or ask for it to be restricted. Write to hello@sourcingproof.com and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first.

If you are in the EEA or UK you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what we collect and to request deletion; we do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.

7. Security

Data is held in access-controlled accounts, transmitted over HTTPS, and shared only as described above. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we will notify you and any relevant authority as required by applicable law.

8. Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes and, for anyone with an active engagement, we will say so by email.
